Paying it forward

I don’t remember her name (that’s not how I most commonly recognize people its all about the energy).

I was offering oracle readings at a show I don’t remember were but it doesn’t matter because there is at least one of these types of stories at every one of them.

Thru out the day I had worked with a lot of people and a lot of energies. One particular woman kept circling back to me. Each time she would pause and we would exchange a pleasantry or a glance. Towards the end of the show she finally stopped and we actually talked. It was obvious she was having a hard time with something and was being drawn to me for help. She told me she didn’t have any money and I asked her to sit with me anyway and told her I would pull a card for her at no cost. She felt bad about not being able to pay me but I was able to talk her into it anyway. The card I pulled for her was the Spider Spirit from the “Spirit Animal Oracle” by Collette Baron-Reid.

I read intuitively and I use the card descriptions for reference only (mostly when I am having a hard time putting the message I am getting into words). I knew that the “Make your dreams real” explanation although great for the card was not what applied to her in this case. The message I was getting for her was a message of constant rebuilding and I told her that if you think about it, every time that a web building spider gets a good meal they have to patch their web and each time it is improved and made more beautiful. This was a reminder for her that there is beauty and strength in rebuilding regardless of how many times you have to do it. As she started to cry she told me that her life had recently fallen apart she had been trying to rebuild and was having a horrible time with it so much so that she had tried to commit suicide the week before. This message gave her hope that all the hardships that led her to were she was the week before had not been for nothing, it gave her hope that she too could come out of this stronger in the end.

I feel very fortunate to have been able to be the conduit that gave her the message she needed at such a crucial time in her life and I would encourage others to “Pay it forward” also. You never know when even a small act can make a huge difference in someones life.
